New Drywall Pre-Screening Questionnaire From New West Gypsum Recycling (BC) Inc.
Effective October 5, 2011 New West Gypsum Recycling (BC) Inc. will be enforcing its approved Asbestos Exposure Control Program (ECP) that has been imposed by WorkSafeBC.
All of New West Gypsum’s valued customers will be required to answer the pre-screening questionnaire as shown below. If your firm or company has an existing Asbestos practice or ECP that you follow, New West Gypsum will accept your paperwork.
“We appreciate your cooperation and patience during the initiation of this program,” says Richard McCamley, vice-president.
Drywall Pre-Screening Questionnaire
1) Is the drywall from a structure built before 1984?
No → Proceed to dump
Yes → Proceed to Question #2
2) Are analytical results available confirming the waste is not asbestos containing?
Yes → Proceed to dump
No → Pull off to side & speak with a site representative
It is important to note that the first offense of knowingly falsifying analytical results or documentation, or dumping Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM), will result in a $1,000 fine. Documentation will be required for all future loads from the job-site contractor. Haulers will also be held accountable as contributors for not checking / verifying bin contents, as per site permits and NOPs before departing job origin.
A second offense will result in a $5,000 fine, and a two-week suspension of privileges at NWGR’s Vulcan Street plant. A third offense will result with a permanent ban from any and all NWGR facilities. All fines will be applied after the customer has paid for proper testing, remediation, and disposal of material from our site.
