Saint-Gobain’s Engineered Stone Grenite Series Provides Sustainable Solution for Big and Small Surface Applications

Saint-Gobain is offering Grenite(R) in its portfolio of engineered stone surface solutions. Manufactured entirely in the United States, the Grenite line provides building and design professionals with an environmentally friendly surface that can be engineered to fit customers’ needs.

“A game changer for engineered stone, Saint-Gobain’s proprietary manufacturing process makes it possible to produce both small and large runs of flat sheets in standard and custom colors,” said Patrice Lallement, marketing and business development manager at Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics. “Trade professionals now have a sustainable, durable and aesthetically pleasing surface solution for any size job.”

The Grenite line has a unique look and feel compared to other countertop materials. In addition to customizable options, available colors include: Anaconda Black; Raw (tan); Viridani (green); Light Grey; Rouho (red); Azulize (blue); Celebrity (black & tan); Birch Prada (beige); and Java (brown). Saint-Gobain is also engineering additional colors and patterns that will debut this spring.

Grenite is a sustainable alternative to materials such as laminates, solid surfaces, quartz and granite. It features the highest post-consumer recycled content currently available in the market — up to 85 percent — and is eligible for LEED(R) points through the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).

With a much higher abrasion resistance than other countertop materials — average 303, tested by ASTM C1353Grenite is ideal for high-traffic horizontal and vertical applications in the retail, hospitality, banking, education, entertainment and restaurant industries. Grenite is also flame retardant, NSF 51 certified, non-porous, durable and easy to install.
